Busting myths- Does a tingling or cooling kinda sensation mean a product is WORKING??

There are many beauty myths which still exists from a very long time or Should I say right from our granny's beauty diaries!! Few myths are true but others are just fiction.

So,talking about todays myth,which is quite popular and many people believe it to be true; a tingling or cooling kind off sensation means that a product is working!! so do you think it is true?!

This is something that the company's do with full knowledge. It has nothing to do with the efficacy of the product. All it is that the product includes mint,menthol,peppermint or minty type of ingredient .Hmmm,so u must have now got an idea;Exactly!! so,this tingling substance has nothing,absolutely nothing to do with the efficacy of the product.

The tingling sensation means that your skin is being irritated. Your skin is screaming telling you that there is an ingredient which is an irritating substance.

Mints,menthols,peppermints and other minty substances are irritants for your face. Not only on facial products,but these substances are found in many other products like lip balms,eye drops n etc.These substances have their effects too. It will make your lips chapped and difficult to heal.

Have you ever wondered what the actors use to fake tears? Yes!! One product is mint balls. These are rolled near the eye to fake a tear!! Never use any eye drops which contain any minty substance.

So,if your product has some tingling kind off sense,it means it contains some minty substance. These substance instead of working they damage or harm your skin. Basically,there is no relationship between a tingling or cooling sensation with the efficacy of the product,except with the products of pain relief's.

This is actually a marketing gimmick. The manufacturers tantics to trick people into thinking that their products are better!

Other than minty substances, even cinnamon does the same to your face. And yes even capsaicin(its a spicy component of cinnamon & hot peppers,used as an analgesic pain reliever) too.

So glamers..be careful when you purchase such products. And if you have one such,then you know what to do ;)
